According to the above chart, during the years 2021 and 2022, Iran was a fuel exporter, but in the past two years, due to the aging of vehicles and the increase in fuel demand, Iran has become an importer. This trend is such that it is predicted that by the end of 2024, Iran will import approximately $7 billion worth of fuel (based on a rate of 0.65 cents per liter of diesel FOB Persian Gulf).
Since an electric bus does not have an internal combustion engine, many of its maintenance costs are eliminated. A diesel bus, with its internal combustion engine system, high operating temperatures, and numerous moving parts, experiences significant wear and tear. In contrast, an electric bus has a much simpler system, utilizing a PMSM electric motor with very low wear and tear. A diesel bus has many moving parts, including an alternator, belts, radiator fan, gearbox, and more, all of which contribute to the bus's wear and tear. However, an electric bus uses a single electric motor with minimal wear, replacing all of these components.
